Small boat overturned at Ocean Beach

3 years ago - Tuesday 1st March
• 1330 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Ocean Beach to a report of a small boat capsized and occupants in the water. Upon arrival the occupants of the overturned boat were safely on dry land, our Paramedic checked and found no reason to transport any patients.
• 1520 hours Requested by DHB to transfer a female patient with a cardiac condition, accompanied by a Doctor and flight nurse, to Wellington. Sadly, the patient died enroute to Wellington and the helicopter returned to base.

Hospital transfer to Wellington

3 years ago - Monday 28th February
• 1530 hours Requested by DHB to fly to Wellington Hospital with a male patient, aged in his 20’s, with a head injury.

Busy Sunday for the Crew

3 years ago - Sunday 27th February
• 0953 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Wairoa Air field for a meet a St John Ambulance for a tarmac handover of a male patient with a cardiac condition.
• 1439 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Ormondville to a male patient, aged in his 30’s with a head injury incurred in a motor bike accident
• 1719 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Porangahau to an MVA, injuries were minor and transport was not required.

Wairoa three times in one day

3 years ago - Saturday 26th February
• 1140 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa to retrieve a female patient, aged in her 60’s, with injuries resulting from a fall.
• 1400 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa to retrieve a female patient, aged in her 30’s, with a pregnancy complication.
• 1740 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa to retrieve two patients – firstly a female patient aged in her 60’s with a cardiac complaint, and secondly a male patient aged in his 60’s with a puncture wound resulting from an encounter with a stingray.

Wairoa twice in one day

3 years ago - Thursday 24th February
• 1245 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa to retrieve a female patient, aged in her 50’s, with a medical condition.
• 1545 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa to retrieve a male patient, aged in his 30’s, with facial injuries.

Mahia

3 years ago - Wednesday 23rd February
• 1700 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Mahia to meet a St John road ambulance with a male patient aged in his 20’s with a medical condition.

Cardiac patient followed by an MVA

3 years ago - Tuesday 22nd February
• 0939 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa to retrieve a female patient, aged in her 50’s with a cardiac condition.
• 1618 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Takapau to an MVA with 2 patients requiring transport to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

The start of a busy week

3 years ago - Monday 21st February
• 1200 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Waikaremoana where a 24 y/o female tramper fell and fractured her ankle – she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 1505 hours Tasked by Air Desk to fly to Wairoa for a helipad handover from a road ambulance of a male patient suffering from a stroke – he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 1900 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa Hospital to retrieve a 38 y/o female patient with a fractured ankle.

Lake Tutira

3 years ago - Sunday 20th February
• 1625 hours Tasked by Air Desk to an MVA near Lake Tutira – the patient had minor injuries and was transported by road ambulance.

Waipataiki Beach

3 years ago - Saturday 19th February
• 1530 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Waipataki Beach – sadly, the patient died before arrival of the helicopter.
