Wairoa Hospital Transfers

5 years ago - Thursday 14th May
• 0830 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Wairoa to a patient with a medical condition. Wairoa based St John Ambulance treated the patient which meant the helicopter was not required and was stood down en route.
• 1335 hours At the request of DHB flew a Doctor and Nurse to Wairoa to retrieve a male patient, in his 50’s, with a chest infection.

Car Accident at Te Pohue

5 years ago - Wednesday 13th May
• 0900 hours Tasked by Air Desk to SH-5 at Te Pohue to an incident where a single vehicle skidded off the road and in to an adjacent paddock. The single male occupant sustained lacerations and abrasions, he was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up assessment and treatment.
• 2000 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Porongahau to a child with abdominal pains – adverse weather prevented the helicopter reaching the destination.

Cardiac Patient

5 years ago - Monday 11th May
• 1400 hours At the request of DHB flew a Doctor and Nurse to Wairoa to retrieve a male patient with a cardiac condition – the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up.

A busy Sunday for the team

5 years ago - Sunday 10th May
• 0445 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa to retrieve a male patient aged in his 20’s with a head injury, as a result of a motor bike accident.
• 1315 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Takapau to an elderly patient with a medical condition – the patient was flown to Hawkes Bay Hospital for follow up treatment.
• 1730 hours At the request of DHB transferred a female child, with burns from a hot cup of tea, to Hutt Hospital.

Cardiac Patient

5 years ago - Saturday 9th May
• 1645 hours At the request of DHB transported a 68 y/o male patient with a cardiac condition, accompanied by ICU Doctor and Flight Nurse to Wellington Hospital

A busy Friday for the crew

5 years ago - Friday 8th May
• 0900 hours At the request to DHB transferred a 73 y/o male patient with a cardiac complaint to Wellington Hospital
• 1725 hours Tasked by DHB to fly to Wairoa with a flight nurse to retrieve a 70y/o female patient with a cardiac condition
• 1920 hours Tasked by DHB to return to Wairoa to retrieve a male patient aged in his 80’s with a medical condition

Serious head injury and medical condition

5 years ago - Thursday 7th May
• 1030 hours At the request of DHB transported a male patient, aged in his 60’s with a serious head injury, accompanied by ICU Doctor and Flight Nurse to Wellington Hospital
• 1630 hours Tasked by DHB to fly to Wairoa Hospital with a flight nurse to retrieve a female patient with a medical condition.

Two hospital transfers for the crew

5 years ago - Wednesday 6th May
• 1000 hours Tasked by DHB to transport a male patient, aged in his 50’s with a cardiac condition, accompanied by an ICU Doctor and Flight Nurse to Wellington Hospital.
• 1455 hours Tasked by DHB to fly to Wairoa with an ICU Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a male patient, aged in his 60’s with a cardiac condition

Four year old with injury in Elsthorpe

5 years ago - Sunday 3rd May
• 1425 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Elsthorpe to a 4 y/o child with a facial injury as a result of falling from a bicycle – the young child was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up treatment.

Cardiac Patient

5 years ago - Friday 1st May
• 1600 hours At request of DHB flew to Wairoa Hospital, with a Flight Nurse, to retrieve a male patient aged in his 50’s with a cardiac condition.
