A busy Sunday for the crew

4 years ago - Sunday 4th July
• 1245 hours Initially tasked by Air Desk to an MVA near Taupo, whilst en route requested to divert to Mangaweka to an MVA. A male patient from the MVA was flown to Whanganui Hospital.
• 1500 hours Whilst the helicopter was refuelling at Whanganui Airport the Air Desk requested a response to Manaia to a male patient who had fallen and suffered a serious head injury, the patient was transported to Taranaki Base Hospital.

CHB Farm Accident

4 years ago - Saturday 3rd July
• 1715 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Oueroa in Central Hawke’s Bay to an accident on a farm, where a male patient suffered a broken leg – the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Forestry accident

4 years ago - Wednesday 30th June
• 1520 hours Tasked by Air Desk to a commercial pine plantation near Tangoio to a forestry accident where a member of a forest harvest crew was struck by a log, which either rolled or slipped down a steep hillside – unfortunately, the patient had non-survivable injuries.

Whanganui Rescue Mission

4 years ago - Tuesday 29th June
• 1015 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Whanganui to a seriously ill patient (Palmerston North helicopter was out on another mission) – the helicopter was stood down en route when it was confirmed the patient had deceased.

Maternity Transfer

4 years ago - Monday 28th June
• 1430 hours at the request of HBDHB flew to Wairoa with a midwife and flight nurse to retrieve a pregnant patient – she was flown to Hawkes Bay Hospital.

Wairoa Retrieval

4 years ago - Sunday 27th June
• 0120 hours At the request of HBDHB flew to Wairoa Hospital with an ICU Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a male patient with a head injury.

A very busy Saturday for the team

4 years ago - Saturday 26th June
• 1515 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Crownthorpe to a female patient who fell and injured her knee whilst gardening - she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 2000 hours Tasked by Police to Mahia to a report of an MVA on the beach, a male occupant from the vehicle was flown to Gisborne Hospital.
• 2215 hours On the return journey from Gisborne, requested by Air Desk to fly to Wairoa Airfield to meet a St John Road Ambulance with a male patient with a cardiac complaint – the patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Taihape

4 years ago - Friday 25th June
• 1649 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Taihape to a teenage female patient with a medical issue – she was flown to Whanganui Hospital.

Cyclist in Waipukurau

4 years ago - Thursday 24th June
• 1100 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Waipukurau to a male cyclist who had fallen from his bike – the cyclist was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up assessment and treatment.

Cardiac Arrest. Our sincere condolences to the family.

4 years ago - Tuesday 22nd June
• 1000 hours Met a St John Ambulance for a helipad handover of a female patient with a cardiac complaint, requiring urgent transfer to Wellington Hospital. Sadly, the patient died in flight as a result of a cardiac arrest.
