Ruahine Forest Park Rescue

3 years ago - Monday 17th January
• 1755 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to Barlow Hut in the Ruahine Forest Park to a 63 y/o female tramper who has fallen and sustained a laceration to her head – she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up treatment.

Northern Hawke's Bay missions

3 years ago - Sunday 16th January
• 1005 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Mahia to a female patient with an eye injury incurred at home – she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up treatment.
• 1200 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa with a DHB flight team to retrieve a female patient with injuries sustained in an MVA

Young child with fractured limb

3 years ago - Saturday 15th January
• 0900 hours tasked by Air Desk to Pourerere to a young child with a fractured limb resulting from a fall, the child was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up treatment.

A very busy Friday for the crew

3 years ago - Friday 14th January
• 0515 hours At the request of DHB transported a cardiac patient, accompanied by ICU Doctors and flight Nurse to Wellington Hospital.
• 1005 hours Whilst on the return for Wellington requested by Police to respond to an incident at Waipataki Beach to swimmers in the water in difficulty – upon arrival the swimmers were successfully back on dry land. Our Intensive Care Paramedic checked the swimmers and decided that transport was not necessary.
• 1320 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Porangahau to a report of a motorcycle accident on the beach, where a female motorcyclist sustained injuries – she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 1645 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Tongariro Alpine Crossing where a 51 y/o female fell down a bank and was unable scramble back to the walking track. She was recovered by winch and was found to be uninjured. The remaining members of her walking party were uploaded in the helicopter and flown to the carpark because they would not have made it down from the mountain before dark.

Motorcyclist accident at Te Awanga

3 years ago - Wednesday 12th January
• 2000 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Clifton to a report of a motorcycle accident on the beach – the male motorcyclist with head and chest injuries was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Wairoa and Porangahau

3 years ago - Tuesday 11th January
• 0420 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa with a midwife and flight nurse to a maternity patient
• 1328 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Porangahau to a male patient with breathing difficulties, he was transported to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up treatment.

Cardiac Transfer

3 years ago - Sunday 9th January
• 0330 Hours Tasked by Air Desk for a helipad handover from a St John Road Ambulance of a 61 y/o male patient with a cardiac complaint requiring immediate transfer to Wellington Hospital.

MVAs in Hawke's Bay

3 years ago - Saturday 8th January
• 0130 hours Initially tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to a beacon activation near Tuai, which was then changed to an Air Desk activation to a MVA, where the vehicle was down a steep bank. A female occupant of the vehicle was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
• 1145 hours Requested by DHB to fly a female patient to Waikato Hospital, accompanied by Doctor and Flight Nurse – the same patient from the Tuai accident.
• 1500 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Porangahau to a female patient with a broken leg resulting from a quad bike accident.

Wairoa Hospital

3 years ago - Friday 7th January
• 1055 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa, with a midwife and flight nurse to retrieve a maternity patient.
