Hospital Transfers

Tuesday 23 October
1400 Transported a male patient with a cardiac problems from Wairoa Hospital to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
2300 Transported a female patient with abdominal pain from Wairoa Hospital to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Burns Patient

6 years ago - Monday 22 October
1200 Tasked to Te Haroto to pick up a 35yo male who was suffering burns as a result of the radiator over-heating on the excavator he was operating.

Horse Accident

6 years ago - Sunday 21 October

1100 - Flew to Weber in southern Hawke’s Bay to a 29 y.o. male who had fallen from a horse and suffered head injuries. He was transported to Palmerston North Hospital.

Another Busy weekend!

6 years ago - Saturday 20 October

0900 - Called to Te Mata Peak to a young male who had suffered a fall down a steep bank injuring his legs and back. He was extracted from the inaccessible location by winch, before transporting to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

1200 - Flew to Porangahau for a female patient in her 50’s who fell from her horse. She was suffering back and rib pains, and was transported to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for assessment and treatment.

1530 - Transferred a 43yo female patient with respiratory problems from Hawke’s Bay Hospital to Palmerston North Hospital.

A very busy Hawke's Bay Anniversary day for the Rescue Helicopter

6 years ago - Friday 19 October

0700 - Flew to Wairoa Hospital to pick up a newborn baby and mother to be transported to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

1200 - Transferred a patient with a medical condition from Hawke’s Bay Hospital to Palmerston North Hospital.

1930 - Flew to Wairoa Hospital to transfer a 75yo male patient with a medical condition to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

2130 - The Rescue Helicopter was tasked to fly into the Ruahine Forest Park west of Ashley Clinton to 24 y.o. male patient suffering severe cramps. He was extracted from the inaccessible location by winch. He transported to Hawke’s Bay hospital for further assessment and treatment.

Two rural based rescue missions

6 years ago - Wednesday 17 October

0900 The rescue helicopter responded to a farm at Maraetotara where a 20 y.o. male suffered facial injuries whilst handling cattle in a yard. He was transported to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for further assessment.

1035 The rescue helicopter was tasked to Tuai for a farmer who tripped and fell whilst scrub cutting. Initial pain relief was provided by St John road ambulance Paramedics from Wairoa, but helicopter transport to Hawke’s Bay Hospital was required.

Serious medical transfer

1500 Transported a female patient with a serious medical condition from Wairoa Hospital to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

0200 Transported a male patient with a serious medical condition from Wairoa Hospital to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Mahunga Beach Accident

6 years ago - Saturday 13 October
1940 The rescue helicopter was responded to Mahunga Beach on the Mahia Peninsula for a vehicle roll-over and a 28 year old male sustained back and arm injuries. He was transported to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for further treatment.

Two time critical hospital transfers

6 years ago - Wednesday 10 October
0300 Transported a premature baby from Wairoa Hospital to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
1215 Transported of a 52yo male patient with cardiac issues from Hawke’s Bay Hospital to Wellington Hospital.
