MVA Waipawa

4 years ago - • 1445 hours Tasked by Air Desk to a 2 car head-on MVA near Waipawa, the Rescue Helicopter transported the driver of one of the vehicles who was in a critical condition to Hawke’s Bay Hospital, and a road ambulance transported the driver of the other vehicle who was in a serious condition.

PLB Activation Ruahine Ranges

4 years ago - • 1145 hours Tasked by Rescue Coordination Centre to Ruahine Ranges to rescue a hunter who was lost and one day overdue, and had activated his PLB. The hunter (and his dog) where located, he was checked by our Paramedic, and then flown back to his car.

Wairoa & Patoka

5 years ago - • 1745 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa with an ICU Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a female patient with a medical condition.
• 2045 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Patoka to a young child with a medical condition – the young patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up treatment.

Tuai MVA, Wairoa , Tongariro Crossing & Whakapapa

5 years ago - • 0815 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa Hospital, with an ICU Doctor and Flight Nurse to retrieve a patient with a medical condition.
• 1130 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Tuai to an MVA where a teenage male with leg injuries was retrieved by winching the paramedic in to the scene of the accident. The patient was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital for follow up treatment.
• 1500 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Tongariro Crossing where a female tramper had fallen and suffered a severe head injury – because of the severity of the injury the patient was flown to Waikato Hospital.
• 1745 hours On the return from Waikato Hospital requested by Air Desk to divert to Whakapapa to a report of a male patient falling from a skateboard and injuring his head – because of the severity of the head injury this patient was also transported directly to Waikato Hospital.

Wairoa, Mahia & Palmerston North

5 years ago - • 1200 hours At the request of DHB flew to Wairoa with an ICU Doctor and Flight Nurse.
o On the outward leg transported a male patient discharged from Hawke’s Bay Hospital to Wairoa Hospital for further recovery.
o On the return flight transported an elderly female patient with injuries resulting from a fall.
• 1800 hours At the request of DHB flew a patient, accompanied by ICU Doctor and Flight Nurse, to Palmerston North Hospital
• 2110 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Mahia to a patient with a reported broken leg – adverse weather en route meant that the helicopter could not complete the mission and was forced to turn back to Base.

Porangahau

5 years ago - • 1224 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Porangahau to a female patient with a medical complaint – she was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital.

Wairoa & S.H. 5 at Rangitaiki - Head On MVA

5 years ago - • 1120 hours at the request of HBDHB flew to Wairoa with an ICU Doctor and flight nurse to retrieve a patient with a gunshot wound.
• 1515 hours Tasked by Air Desk to SH-5 at Rangitaiki to a 2 vehicle head on crash. This was a 3 helicopter response with helicopters from Taupo, Hastings and Tauranga attending. Our crew transported a male passenger, with multiple injuries to Hawke’s bay Hospital.

Mangaweka & Eketahuna

5 years ago - • 0500 hours Tasked by Air Desk to await delivery of a patient, with a cardiac condition, by road ambulance to the helipad, for immediate transfer to Wellington Hospital
• 1320 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Wallingford to a female patient involved in a vehicle rollover – the patient sustained serious injuries and was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital

Cardiac Patient & Wallingford MVA

5 years ago - • 0500 hours Tasked by Air Desk to await delivery of a patient, with a cardiac condition, by road ambulance to the helipad, for immediate transfer to Wellington Hospital
• 1320 hours Tasked by Air Desk to Wallingford to a female patient involved in a vehicle rollover – the patient sustained serious injuries and was flown to Hawke’s Bay Hospital

Eketahuna, stood down en route

5 years ago - • 1215 hours Tasked by Air Desk to a report of a car ran off the road and down a bank at Eketahuna – the helicopter was stood down en route when it was advised that a road ambulance and paramedic had arrived at the accident scene.
